Anthony Herrera of Queens, New York and North Miami Beach, FL at age 47, passed away on November 28th, 2017. He was born on July 27th, 1970 in New York but later moved to Florida. In 1994 he joined the United States Army and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was deployed to Bosnia as the Operations NCO for the Assistant Division Commander of all the Multinational forces in Bosnia, He married his wife Cheryl on July 7th, 2001 and remained part of the 10th Mountain Division until 2001. He was reassigned to the 25th Infantry Division and moved with his wife Cheryl to Hawaii and was stationed at Schofield Barracks. On September 19, 2003 Tony and his wife found out they were having a baby and not long after he was deployed to Iraq on January 18, 2004. He did several combat operations and was injured and was sent back to Hawaii. He decided to leave the Army so he could be around to raise his daughter and finished his service commitment and was Honorably Discharged on June 13, 2005. He became a Police officer on August 23, 2005, for the City of Boca Raton, and after that he started working as a LP specialist. He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl; daughter Victoria and son Dominick whom he cherished. Also survived by his mother-in-law Alice Magill, sister-in-law Kimberly Magill; niece Samantha Disommo and nephew Salvatore DiSommo, best friend Raul Orjuela; Aunt Elvira Yanez and Uncle Nelson Yanez Sr., cousins Nelson Yanez Jr. and Mercedes Yanez-Fulcado. Loving Husband, wonderful father and great friend. He will be Greatly missed, but not forgotten.
