When they retired in Florida, she was a loyal member of the two church communities, Peace United Methodist in South Miami, and when they moved north in1992, they joined the New Horizon Methodist Church in Southwest Ranches. She was a devoted church volunteer at New Horizon and served on the mission group, joy circle, the women’s craft group, and delivered meals in the Meals on Wheels and SHARE programs.

Lou was preceded in death by her brothers Victor McVicker, Leo McVicker, and sister, Joycelyn (McVicker) Ayersman.
