Obituary:
Johnathan J. Aiken was born in Dania, FL to the late Ethel Edge who preceded him in death on 4/13/1995. His elderly grandmother Helen Edge (deceased 4/4/2004) became his caretaker.

His older cousins Robert and Reggie Graham, being close with Ethel made a previous pact that if anything happens to her, they would take care of her babies.

At the age of five, Johnathan became too active for his elderly grandmother, and she made the decision to place him in the care of Children’s Home Society of Florida.

The Graham Family stepped in and Mattie Graham became his legal guardian, as well as his cousins Robert (as a father figure) and Reggie (as an uncle). He also had his siblings Ashley, Joseph, and Brittany.

Johnathan attended Dillard High School, but one of his little league coaches, Brian Jones later recommended, that he attend Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School, a more disciplined private school where he excelled in academics and football, under Coach Tim Terrell. Prior to graduating in 2010, he received a four-year scholarship to Rutgers University of New Jersey, where he played football under Coach Kyle Flood, as a Defensive Back, playing - Free Safety.

Johnathan was the first in history to play in The Big Ten Conference to receive The Defensive Player of the Week Award, which is now a trivial question on the TV game show Jeopardy.

Johnathan {Bay Bay} was a fun, loving person, with an infectious personality. His smile and comedic personality touched everyone that he met, which left a special place in their heart.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three siblings: Ashley Edge (Ft. Laud., FL), Joseph {Eboni} Battiste (Tamarac, FL), and Brittney Battiste (Augusta, GA). His two sons Ja’kai and Jaydian Aiken, One niece and three nephews also survived him. His adopted family: Mattie Graham, Robert (Sharon) Graham, and Reginald (Sandra) Graham;
Special Cousins: Tamekia Witherspoon and Shamekia Witherspoon. His extended family, Mr. and Mrs. Zaros, along with Coach Tim Terrell. His devoted friends: Malcolm Rankins and Johnny Frontal, and a host of family, friends, and teammates.

Rest in Peace our Special One!
